Sterling Homeowners Add Addition to Serve as Peaceful Meditation Center
Customer Focus
MOSS worked with our customers closely to design a space onto their existing home that could serve as a community meditation center. A few necessary requirements included plenty of natural light, warm flooring and color selections, and a natural flow from the rest of the home. MOSS designers focused on creating an addition that looked as if it had always been part of the home and could be transitioned into a different use in the future. In the end, the addition is perfect for hosting guests for meditation group sessions and showcasing off the incredible artwork the homeowners have curated over the years in addition to being a perfect spot for relaxing on one’s own.
Safety
MOSS implemented all CDC health and safety guidelines for the homeowners as well as for all employees and subcontractors who worked on the project daily as this remodel occurred during the global pandemic. In addition, no damage occurred to the home’s backyard, which boasts a fire pit, koi pond, and an outdoor meditation center/pergola area.

Performance
MOSS recommended that the homeowners install luxury vinyl tile (LVT) as the flooring for the addition. It mimics the look of natural hardwood, but is a fraction of the cost, incredibly durable, and extremely easy to maintain.
Fairness
MOSS was transparent in communicating with the homeowners throughout the addition process, being sure to share anytime there were either weather delays or supply chain issues, for example.

Quality
The use of overhead skylights in the addition’s ceiling/roof gives the room an incredible amount of natural light, which was a key requirement of the homeowners. Those plus the large windows and exterior doors allow not only more light but access to see the bamboo garden, greenery, and other elements in the backyard.
