Incredible Interior Remodel Transforms Herndon Home
Customer Focus
MOSS connected with our customers a few years ago but they decided to hold off on beginning a large remodel project at that point. After seeing MOSS sponsor an event at their children’s school more recently, they decided that the time was right to invest the time and energy to transform their house into their dream home, so they reached back out to MOSS.
The original structure had many blocky rooms, a more traditional design style, and a layout that didn’t make sense for the family. MOSS focused on specific details, including highlighting the family’s beloved art, creating a better sense of room usage, and designing the kitchen and master bathrooms that they envisioned, and in the end, the completed interior remodel is a stunning transformation for the family to enjoy for years to come.
Safety
MOSS worked on this remodel during the global pandemic. All CDC health and safety guidelines were implemented to keep both the customers and the MOSS team safe. In addition, the homeowners have three rambunctious dogs, so the area was constantly secured to keep them safe in the home and backyard.
Performance
Our homeowners have a deep fondness for the work of an artist from whom they have commissioned many pieces of art. One piece in particular is incredibly important to the family. Our MOSS designer understood this and after suggesting closing in the upstairs loft space, further suggested that the piece of art be placed in this prominent position so that upon entering the home it is a “wow” moment. And it is!
Fairness
Throughout the design of this remodel, our customers trusted the MOSS process. For example, MOSS suggested opening up walls on the main level but closing the upstairs loft to create another space. In the end, the main level became the open concept space that the homeowners had hoped for, with distinct spaces grouped together (the kitchen and family room, for example), while the upstairs was closed off to create a fun “kid” area for playing, exercising, and practicing music.
Quality
The master bathroom had to be remodeled with incredible care. Not only was marble chosen for the vanity top and shower tub sides and floor (marble is a beautiful, natural stone but must be handled carefully), but the soaking tub was incredibly heavy and difficult to maneuver as it’s made of 100% concrete. The quality of handling the materials and installation was top-notch and the result is beautiful, with no issues nor mistakes made during the entire process.
