From Traditional to Contemporary, A Beautiful Reston Interior Remodel Shines
Lacking an updated design and good flow, this Reston home has been transformed into the comfortable yet contemporary space our homeowner envisioned.
Customer Focus
MOSS began working with our customer in the fall of 2020 while they were still residing on the opposite coast. Knowing they wanted to live in Reston, they purchased a home that they knew would work for them yet that needed updating to match their style and design aesthetic. Through modern technology our team was able to capture our customer’s vision, which included an entire main floor interior update, including a reconfigured kitchen space with massive island, the opening of a kitchen nook area by removing walls to create better flow and functionality, updated stair railings to reflect a more contemporary look and feel, and a change of wall color and trim throughout.
Safety
MOSS began and completed this project during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Not only did MOSS follow all CDC guidelines for health and safety, to protect both our teams and our customer, but as with all MOSS projects, safety was put in place to protect the home’s floors, furniture, and other parts that were not being affected, to keep the homeowner’s dogs safe throughout, and to minimize dust and debris.
Performance
MOSS was able to work with our customer long-distance, with many decisions being made virtually. By developing a relationship with the homeowner to understand their pain points about the home and its design, which was decidedly traditional and a nod to its original build date, our team was able to better provide design suggestions that met and exceeded expectations. The end result, with work completed by our team craftsmen, is incredible. Not only beautiful, all MOSS work is permitted and approved by all appropriate parties.
Fairness
Purchasing a home sight unseen (or quickly seen on a visit!) can be a leap of faith for home buyers. Working with our customer long-distance, we knew this was the case. It’s important to note that all decisions were done in concert with our homeowner, which is a crucial component of our driving principle of Fairness.
Quality
The quality of the design and workmanship is second to none. The homeowner can now truly settle into the Reston area in a home that is their own and that feels comfortable for them to enjoy for the long term.
