Elegant & Sophisticated Herndon Primary Bathroom Remodel
Customer Focus
Our MOSS customer, who had previously partnered with us on a kitchen remodel, knew they wanted to update their primary bathroom, which was original to their home’s build. Our customer appreciated the bathroom’s layout for its functionality but wanted to refresh all the selections of the space, update the flooring, tile, fixtures, and more, and were inspired by a gorgeous piece of wall art that was full of colors they loved, including gold, grey, black and white.
With the art as the inspiration, our MOSS designer worked with our customer to create the elegant and sophisticated bathroom they envisioned using the large space and the corner nook to the advantage of the design. A few highlights of the chosen selections: the floor tile, sourced from Mosaic Tile, is marble and laid in a beautiful herringbone pattern. The soaking tub replaced the original walk up, outdated tub, and makes better use of the lighting from the large windows. Finally, the shower showcases the same floor marble tile on the walls, while the picture frame insert is Waterjet Mosaic Demeter Cold framed by Carrera chair rail.
Safety
There were no injuries or days lost on this project, which began and was completed on schedule.
Performance
Originally, our customer wanted the entire shower wall to be laid with the same tile as in the picture frame inset. Working with our designer, they realized that, for them, it would be too busy. So, it was decided to lay the same, simpler marble tile as on the floor on the majority of the shower walls and to keep the original choice in the picture frame and niche.
Fairness
Our homeowner was highly involved in the design process, which is always welcomed by our team. They had a vision for not only all the cabinetry and selections but also the lighting. The central chandelier is a beautiful choice for the space. And, the complementary wall sconces, which are meant to evoke the look of traditional candle holders, are a lovely touch. The decision to choose brushed antique brass for the fixtures adds warmth as well.
Quality
While the bathroom’s major features didn’t change (the shower, tub, cabinetry, and toilet room are all in the same space), changing out all these items and updating the flooring and lighting choices make the space seem entirely new! The use of marble tile throughout was not a decision that was made lightly either – a delicate stone, it must be installed with the utmost care.
