Beautiful Screened Porch Gives Arlington Homeowners Space for Entertaining and Relaxation
Customer Focus
When our MOSS customers purchased their Arlington home, it came with a back deck that was suffering from wear and tear. It was also inconvenient to reach from the main home, as it was accessible only from the side of the house. Their vision was a large screened porch with room for a dining area, mounted television, cozy lounge space, and, most of all, easy access from the house. MOSS designed a beautiful screened porch with all of those features, with Trex boards for easy maintenance and upkeep, plus created a sliding glass door from the main house to allow for seamless flow from the house. In the end, a beautiful and functional update to this Arlington home.
Safety
Because this remodel project took place during the global pandemic, all CDC guidelines were implemented throughout the duration.
Performance
While there was only a small amount of square footage added on from the original deck, the new screened porch has given these homeowners a better extension of their living space and provides them the indoor/outdoor “three seasons” room that they envisioned.
Fairness
Our MOSS designers knew that our customers wanted an entryway to the screened porch from the interior of the house versus the original method they would take to get out to their deck (through an exterior door from their kitchen). MOSS worked closely to open up the house, which is brick, and to match the quality of the brick and associated mortar once the new sliding doors were installed. Today, it is nearly impossible to see the difference from the original and new brick.
Quality
This project was begun during the cold winter months but was kept on schedule and to budget from start to finish. Our MOSS Project Manager was in constant contact with the homeowners giving them updates and made sure that they were aware of anytime the home would be open to the elements. With coverings installed, debris was kept to a minimum.
