Beautiful and Transformational Herndon Interior Remodel
Customer Focus
Our Herndon customers knew they wanted to make several significant changes to the interior of their home – while they loved the house and neighborhood, multiple rooms didn’t suit their busy lifestyle and family. Namely, MOSS was enlisted to redesign the kitchen so that it was more functional and included a connected pantry, update the mudroom and playroom/home office located just off the garage, refinish the main level floors, update the powder room and family room in various ways, redesign the master bedroom and master bath to better suit their needs, give the upstairs hallway bath a design “facelift”, and update the upstairs laundry closet.
Safety
The home remodel was completed during the global pandemic. All CDC health and safety guidelines were followed, and both the homeowners and MOSS team completed daily health checks to keep everyone safe. In addition, the home’s furry friend was kept out of the way by the homeowner during the remodel so that he was safe and happy and undisturbed.
Performance
The performance of the MOSS team was top notch. Our designer worked with the homeowners to create the new kitchen layout they dreamed about, which included removing a main wall to open up the space, and to shift the original dining room into a walk in pantry (versus the standalone cabinet the homeowner had been previously using). Our designer suggested various unique additions to the kitchen design, including pullouts in the cabinet beneath the sink to better store cleaning materials, and double spice and utensil pull out drawers, which are invaluable for saving counterspace and making organization much easier.
Fairness
Because this project was so multi-faceted, it was done in stages so that the family’s life wasn’t affected so deeply. Considering it was completed during the pandemic when the family’s children were doing virtual school from home, the upheaval of such a massive project could have been detrimental. Quite the contrary, the remodel was done in such a way to maintain consistency for the family throughout the process.
Quality
The quality of work is impeccable, namely in the master bathroom. Our MOSS designer suggested a vertical "waterfall" strip behind the showerhead and faucet as well as a special niche on the wall- both of which have Merrilee, Baroque, Floret Sky, Blanco & White Jade porcelain tile. Our field team did an amazing job of installing these tiles. A unique design touch that makes this bathroom incredibly special.
